The remodel of this home in Broadmoor changed everything . . . and nothing. Schultz Miller restored the exterior—we tuck-pointed the masonry, installed a new roof, and painted the windows and trim–but the house’s outward appearance remained unchanged.
In an equally unobtrusive way, we increased the amount of useable interior space but stayed within the original footprint. Working with architect Craig Stillwell and designers Jerry Earls and Patricia Schlapp, we lowered the basement floor by 1 ½ ft.; converted crawl space into a full basement; and turned attic space into a playroom.
We refurbished the grand staircase, extending it to the basement, remade the kitchen, updated all finishes, and added a home theater, wine cellar, and gym.
The result of so much remodeling done thoughtfully and with respect for the essence of the original home is the same house, made new again.
