Capitol Hill Refresh

We collaborated with interior designer Michelle Dirkse on a re-envisioning of the interior of this classic home on Seattle’s Capitol Hill.

The transformation of this classic brick home involved dividing the main space to create an office beyond the living room and elevating the character of the interior.

We refinished floors; painted walls; reconfigured and updated ceiling lighting; added a soapstone hearth and surround to a fireplace; installed built-in window seating and new kitchen countertops; removed a window on the staircase; and sourced hard-to-find gumwood to match the trim in the living room.

The result of the interior refresh is a home with a harmonious look and feel that complements the owners’ lifestyle. There are touches and surprises that delight in every space, while at the same time there’s a consistency to the interior throughout.
